Beware of posting newsletters online

Recently, I have received numerous inquiries as to placing the monthly newsletter on Lodge Web sites. Upon consulting with our Grand Lodge Judiciary Chairman, Hon. Thomas Brazier, he states: “There is nothing wrong with sending the bulletin to individual Members by e-mail. But publishing it, especially without password protection, is dangerous and I believe in violation of the Statutes of the Order.” Heed this advice, as to serious situations have arisen in our local Lodges due to posting their newsletter online.

I am working on obtaining software that will require you, any Elk member, to register to be able to download the lodge monthly bulletin. Once you register, your membership will be verified and you will be validated to access the lodge bulletin.

If you are not receiving your copy of the bulletin in the mail please email the secretary and advise him at secretary@ocelks.com.
